12/22/20 Finding Hope

January 10, 2021 / Comments Off on 12/22/20 Finding Hope

This week was the convergence of the paths of Jupiter and Saturn. Their paths come close together every 20 years but usually their path is not close enough to create the effect of a very large star. The last time their paths were this close together was in 1623. That time however the sun blocked their view. Some people think that the star of the Christmas story may have been a convergence of the paths of three planets. It was said to have brought great hope.

This time it was a beautiful, clear evening. Thousands of people were out on the beach looking up at the sky. People were there, I believe, because after this year many of us could use a symbol of hope. What is interesting to me is that when we look for hope we find it. Of course, the opposite is also true. We could look for fear or despair and that is what we will find.

What will you look for today?
