John was talking about making real carbonara. My mouth was watering. I haven’t had real carbonara since I lived near Boston.
Real carbonara is made with Guanciale, a fatty pork cured with salt, rosemary, and garlic. There’s no cream in real carbonara. You mix egg with Pecorino Romano and a splash of pasta water. Add this to the pasta and Guanciale, creating a creamy sauce.
In my opinion, real anything is better than fake anything.
Fake power is when a person forces a situation, manipulates people to maintain an advantage or puts arbitrary rules in place to maintain control.
I like what Oprah Winfrey says about real power. Real power “comes from the core of who you are and reflects all that you were meant to be.”
Real power isn’t about perfection. It’s about being so comfortable in your authenticity that no matter the situation you can remain centered, calm and clear headed.
How real are you feeling today?
