It was the first day of August. Everyone in the bunk house was fast asleep. At the crack of dawn Carol (our camp counselor) jumped off of the end of her bed and started yelling at the top of her lungs, “White Rabbit, White Rabbit, White Rabbit”.
She went around pulling us out of our beds and corralling us out onto the porch. Somehow we ended up at the lake, in our pajamas laughing and having the time of our life.
On the first day of every month I try to remember to jump out of bed and yell White Rabbit 3 times, if only in my head. Some would say it’s a superstition and that it’s supposed to bring good luck for the month. What I say is that it’s my reminder to wipe the slate clean and to look forward to a new month with anticipation. It’s also a reminder to bring others along with enthusiasm. And finally, and possibly most important, is to remember to fill life with fun and laughter.
How will you fill your month?
