At one point in my career I worked as a consultant with an international accounting and consulting firm. Every morning the managing partner would walk the through the entire company stopping at each office. If our heads were down working he would simply say good morning and move on.
Somehow he knew when we were struggling and would take the time to ask about our work and help us think through a solution or suggest who to talk with to get the support we needed.
As leaders I believe it’s important to stay in contact with our team on a regular basis, not to micromanage what they are doing but to let them know that they are not alone.
Right now with so many people working remotely, reaching out to people one on one is possibly more important than ever.
