Susan was talking about being a playwright and that few creative people are able to support themselves with their art. I asked her who are her favorite successful playwrights and how did they make it.
In each case the person just started putting out a lot of their writing and made connections wherever they could. They didn’t wait until they perfected their craft. At some point people started to notice their writing. For some it took two years, for others it took six years. Once they were “in” it seems that, unless they decided to stop for some reason, everything flowed from there.
There are no guarantees that anyone will make it to the top of their field but there is a guarantee that we will fail if we don’t start.
What are you waiting to start?
