In 1988 Norway opened the Alpine Center which was to be the site of the 1994 Winter Olympics. Only men were asked to participate in the celebration.
35 women decide to crash the ceremony. They hid in the woods and as the men came into view they skied onto the slope ringing cowbells.
The Norwegians loved this surprise and the women were invited to participate in the Olympics.
Their motto was, “To improvise, surprise and come uninvited.”
